Scholarship Description

The Heads Up For Our Youth “Big 10 Future Leaders Scholarship” celebrates a decade of empowering young people with our 10th Annual Back to School Rally. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to students in Guilford County, North Carolina, who have demonstrated commitment to academic success, leadership, and service to their communities.

Our goal is to provide financial support to graduating seniors pursuing a four-year university degree or enrolling in an accredited trade or technical school in North Carolina. This scholarship honors students who embody the spirit of HUFOY’s mission: preparing youth to become productive, confident, and impactful citizens.

Award Amount: $1,000
Number of Awards: 3
Eligibility: Guilford County residents enrolling in a 4-year college/university or trade/technical school in NC.

Eligibility Checklist

✅ Must live in Guilford County, NC
✅ Must be a graduating high school senior enrolling in a four-year college/university or accredited trade/technical school in NC
✅ Minimum GPA : 3.0 
✅ Must submit all required documents by the deadline ( August 1, 2025 )

Required Documents

  1. Completed Application Form

  2. Short Personal Bio (250 words max) — tell us who you are, your goals, and what drives you.

  3. Official High School Transcript

  4. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation — from a teacher, coach, community leader, or employer (no relatives).

  5. Optional Essay (up to 500 words) — “How do you plan to give back to your community through your chosen career path?”
